Gobi desert tour

The Gobi occupies a vast arc of land 1,000 miles (1,600 km) long and 300 to 600 miles (500 to 1,000 km) wide, with an estimated area of 500,000 square miles (1,300,000 square km).
The Gobi is known for its vast land, dunes, mountains and rare animals such as snow leopards and Bactrian camels.

SIGHTSEEINGS

YOL CANYON is a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains located in distance of 35- 40 km from Dalanzadgad, the center of Umnugobi province. You will enjoy a beautiful walk through the gorge that is about 3km long. Inside the gorge never sees sunlight so you may find some ice on the little river inside the gorge while you are walking. You can also go through the gorge on a horse but when it narrows horses won’t be able to fit so you can ride horses as long as it allows you to reach or you can just simply walk all the way. You may see rare animals like ibexes, martens, snow leopards, vultures, eagles, and hawks around the mountain.

KHONGOR SAND DUNE is located in destination of 190 km away from Dalanzadgad. The sand dune covers 180km area and it glistens along contrasting with rocky mountain Sevree behind. You will walk on the endless sand dunes with your shoes off and enjoy the breathtaking view from the top of the sandy mountain. When the sun sets on the sandy mountains the surrounding color turns orange and it will be the most picturesque moment of the trip. The kids can slide or jump from the top of the dunes or play with sand.   

CHENGHIS KHAN STATUE is currently the biggest equestrian statue in the world. It is located in destination of 54 km to east of the Ulaanbaatar. The statue tall is 40 meters and it is wrapped in 250 tons of gleaming stainless steel. This is pointed east towards Genghis khan’s birthplace. The complex includes a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops occupying the basement floor of the structure. Thereof you will walk or use an elevator reach at the head of the horse and you will view a fantastic panorama around the area.  

TERELJ NATIONAL PARK is situated at 76 km from Ulaanbaatar. The landscape is looking a little bit like the alps. The national park lies at 1600 metres high and offers great opportunities for hiking, horse-riding, rafting and rock climbing. The Turtle rock (Melkhi khad) is an interesting rock formation. You will drive for 20 minutes to the turtle rock from the center of the Terelj National park.
